Sterilization

At Dr JB Peterman's Orthodontic office, we are committed to the health and safety of our patients. Your well-being is at the top of our priority list, which is why we always put the proper controls and precautions in place to ensure you are protected.

We keep our sterilization levels as high as possible. We sterilize all of our dental equipment regularly. We follow state-of-the-art cleaning practices and protocols in the dental field to ensure all equipment is properly cleaned before, during, and after your visit.

We will clean all our dental instruments to minimize the potential risk of infectious transmission during your visit. Here are some of the concrete steps we take to make sure all of our patients are safe during their visits to our office:

  • We always require the use of face masks and gloves for our staff members.
  • We use disposable materials whenever possible.
  • We sterilize all of our equipment before and after each use.
  • We use disinfectant hand soap to reduce the risk of infectious transmission.
  • We always clean all of our countertops and surfaces with EPA-approved chemical disinfectants.

You should see us using all of these best practices during your visit. Our staff members will wear masks and gloves during examinations and procedures. You should also see us thoroughly cleaning all surfaces throughout our exam rooms before, during, and after each patient visit. We use disposable materials whenever we can. The vast majority of the materials we use during your visit are disposable. This includes brushes, floss, gloves, masks, and face shields. Our staff members have been highly trained to properly dispose of our materials when we are done. We also make sure that all of our materials are properly stored, used, and thrown away. That way, we can keep you safe and reduce the chances of someone getting sick during a visit to our office.

Here are some of the steps that we follow:

  • We will thoroughly clean all of our instruments using ultrasonic cleaners. That way, we can remove debris, germs, and bacteria.
  • We wrap all of our equipment and FDA-compliant packaging before the sterilization process.
  • We sterilize all of our instruments using dental autoclave sterilizers as approved by the FDA.

We also disinfect all of our machines and surfaces using EPA-approved cleaners.

By following this process, we minimize the risk of someone getting sick during a visit. We are committed to you. At Dr Peterman's Orthodontic Office, we are here to keep you and your family safe, regardless of whether you visit us.
If you have questions about our sterilization protocol, we invite you to reach out to us and ask. As always, contact us today to schedule an appointment with a member of our team!
